Daniels Art Gallery at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, Boston
"I'm a small town New England person who paints what I see in my world. My aim is to catch your eye--to surprise with color, to illuminate a corner, to evoke a smile. I adore color, and am interested in pattern and surfance design. Ordinary life can look pretty fantastical with artistic license. Local rural scenes are usually the subject of my work, although I do like to bring back images from travels. I especially love gardens, old houses, quirky animals, and places of peace and endurance.
Art can be a source of happiness, can bring pleasure, can enchant. While I admire artists who make bold, difficult statements with their work, that is not my aim. I believe that art can speak to a part of the psyche not accessed by words, which in turn feeds the soul. My goal as an artist is to provide images that bring joy."
